Late blight of potato
Late blight / Phytophthora infestans
The oomycete Phytophthora infestans is the pathogen responsible for late blight in tomatoes and late blight in potatoes. If you would like to have the efficacy of a product against P. infestans tested, we are here to assist you with our testing systems.
Greenhouse trials with potatoes
To evaluate the efficacy of products against Phytophthora infestans, we offer a bioassay on potato plants. The potato plants are grown in a greenhouse year-round. For the test, the plants are pretreated with the products to be tested. They are then inoculated with sporangia of P. infestans. Assessment takes place after approximately 7 days, and the efficacy of the treatments is calculated in comparison to an untreated control.
