Apple mildew / Podosphaera leucotricha
In vivo greenhouse experiment
Potted apple plants are used for the experiments. Mildew incidence and severity are recorded at the beginning and the end of the test. The growing shoots are treated and rated on a weekly basis. After approximately 6 to 8 weeks, the number of infected leaves and the leaf area infected with mildew is evaluated one last time. Using a calculation of the area under the disease progress curve (AUDPC) compared to the untreated control, it is possible to determine the efficiency of the test preparations against the harmful organism.
