Meyerozyma guilliermondii – 2H13® – a microbial additive for fungicides developed by Bio-Protect GmbH.
2H13 is an additive to fungicide that has been approved in Germany and Austria since 2024. It consists of granulated cells from the yeast strain Meyerozyma guilliermondii 2H13.

Aureobasidium pullulans – Active ingredient in fungicides
The research conducted by Bio-Protect was based on preliminary scientific work carried out by the Department of Phytopathology at the University of Konstanz. There, researchers focused on the isolation and characterization of antagonistic yeasts. This led to the idea of colonizing the habitat on plants or fruits early on by introducing these harmless yeasts, thereby preventing infestation by harmful microorganisms (fungi or bacteria).
Bio-Protect continued this research approach and developed the highly effective formulations Boni Protect for controlling storage rot in pome fruit, Blossom Protect for fire blight (Erwinia amylovora) control, Botector for strawberries and in viticulture to combat gray mold (Botrytis cinerea), and Aureo Shield for citrus fruits to control storage diseases. These products contain two strains of the yeast-like fungus Aureobasidium pullulans. Bio-Protect GmbH developed production processes for the two antagonist strains and suitable formulations for their use in the various applications.
These products were registered in many countries both within and outside Europe by bio-ferm GmbH of Austria and are now produced and marketed worldwide by SAN Agrow.
